ABC ART BAJA CALIFORNIA Is Gaining a Stronger Foothold

The call for submissions follows a successful edition held in 2026, which featured a program of workshops, exhibitions, performances, concerts, and collaborations at various venues in San José del Cabo, Todos Santos, and La Paz.

Founded by Zélika García and Karim Reza, ABC ART BAJA CALIFORNIA has established itself as a platform that brings together artists, galleries, studios, cultural institutions, and independent spaces in a network that connects the state’s major creative communities. In addition to promoting the participation of established figures, the event also provides a platform for emerging creators, thereby strengthening artistic exchange and raising the profile of the cultural scene in Baja California Sur.

Conceived as a cultural festival that brings together art, design, music, and community, ABC ART BAJA CALIFORNIA brings together artists, designers, collectors, and national and international audiences in a three-week series of events that fosters cultural production, strengthens collaboration among projects, and promotes creativity across the state’s various regions.

Dates for ABC ART BAJA CALIFORNIA 2027

The fifth edition will take place in three of Baja California Sur’s main cultural hubs. San José del Cabo will host the events from March 10 to 14; Todos Santos, from March 18 to 21; and La Paz, from March 25 to 28, with a program that will include exhibitions, performances, concerts, tours, workshops, experiences, and multidisciplinary gatherings.

Applications to participate in the PLATFORM, HALL, VENUE, COURTYARD, and SOUND categories are now available and will remain open until October 16, 2026.

The Spaces at ABC ART BAJA CALIFORNIA

PLATAFORMA ABC is the art and design fair of Baja California Sur. As part of this program, the 29 guest rooms and various spaces at the Hotel Drift in San José del Cabo are transformed into a network for exhibiting and selling national and international artworks, fostering encounters between creators, collectors, and new audiences.

Por su parte, SALA ABC presenta un programa de exposiciones de temática abierta que recibe propuestas de pintura, fotografía, dibujo, gráfica, arte textil y artesanías, ampliando el alcance y la visibilidad del trabajo de los expositores.

LOCAL ABC is a cultural circuit featuring exhibitions, workshops, performances, and special collaborations at the festival’s three venues, with the participation of local venues that reflect the diversity of the creative community in Baja California Sur.

PATIO ABC brings together sculptures, installations, interventions, and outdoor performance projects that engage with the state’s architecture, gardens, courtyards, and natural landscapes, extending the festival’s reach beyond conventional exhibition spaces.

ABC ART BAJA CALIFORNIA, in the words of its organizers

In a recent interview with Art Weekends, Zélika García, one of the event’s founders, commented:

“San José is where everything comes together and is on full display: that’s where the most visible projects are, and it’s the gateway for galleries, collectors, and visitors from out of town. Todos Santos operates differently—at a slower pace, more process-oriented. It’s where you really understand how artists work and how things are built from the ground up. And La Paz has a more institutional presence: museums, theaters, and spaces that provide context and cultural support for the project.”

The call for proposals seeks to include submissions that reflect the artistic and creative richness of Baja California Sur and to strengthen a program that, year after year, continues to grow in scope and impact.
